Who We Are
Founded in 1866, we are an historic Reform congregation of about 160 families in the middle of Troy, but our members live as far north as Saratoga, west to Niskayuna, south to Albany and Columbia Counties and east to the Massachusetts/Vermont borders. We hold Shabbat services every Friday evening at 7:30 and hold morning Shabbat services about once a month; check the calendar for details. We are a very warm and caring congregation that meets in a beautiful, lovingly restored, and handicapped-accessible synagogue. We have strong adult and child education programs, many social events and dinners, a particularly active social action program which includes our students, and an incredible choir. We urge all who are interested in learning more about us to come at any time to one of our services or programs. Just check the web site for our calendar of events and directions to the synagogue, or email us or call the temple office at (518) 272-8872 for information.
Our Mission Statement

Congregation Berith Sholom is a liberal Reform congregation rooted in a long, proud history. We are, above all, a caring community, warm, open and diverse. We welcome traditional and non-traditional families to pursue joyous worship, lifelong learning and acts of loving kindness.

We support the State of Israel and the spirit of Reform Judaism, encouraging members of all ages to work actively within our congregation and in the wider community to help improve the world.
